My dads 1993 110 Landrover Defender TDI CSW had developed a problem with its wipers not returning to park and no intermittent wipe. My dad ordered a new Park switch from (Britpart - GI12717) which was fitted by the mechanic after a oil change but this didn’t solve the problem.
After some more research we found that there should be a wiper relay unit (Britpart - G5014) located behind the fuse panel. On closer inspection at yet another trip to the mechanic this turned out to be missing completely. When it was fitted the Defender had park , intermittent and the back window (after replacing a fuse) working apart from there was no water going through to the back window.
This was solved by putting another spade connecter onto the corroded wire that contacts to the back washer pump.
Success for now.
I wonder what other dodgy electrics we will find from a previous owner. We know the back wiper motor isn’t a standard Landrover one.
